Weather

We were watching football tonite, watching it snow, heavily. All I could think of is Shanna and Jerrett. I saw in her blog the fun they had. In a way I envy them. Then good sense kicked in. LOL. I remember all the fun we had with the kids when it snowed. Sarah had several good snows when she was younger. But snow isn't that common here. So I do miss seeing it. I don't miss being in it tho.
We do have an artic front headed this way toward the end of the week. We won't get snow from it according to the weatherman. However we are taking our plants in and doing shopping early this week just in case. We will have a good chance of rain which we really need.
I have had a rare spurt of energy today. I did quite a bit of cleaning and such. We also went to Wal-Mart for some things. I do laundry every 3-4 days usually but the holiday put me off some. So it was 3 good loads. Just the 2 of us, hubby says we are really dirty or really clean. Tomorrow we will go to Lowes for the construction size garbage bags. They are awesome. Hubby uses them for leaves and clippings. I convinced him (i hope) to venture into the mall. Neither one of us enjoys shopping there. I will let you know if we make it.

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. More than enough food as usual. Great company too. Our youngest son, my daughter and her husband joined us. The centerpiece was made by Adam, our son, with the help of Sarah. We always have two tables. One for the main food and one for the rest.
We had 3 pies, pumpkin, pecan and an apple. I do not make good pies so we cheated. We bought the apple and pumpkin. Sarah made the pecan pies.
Today we tried real hard to clean the fridge. Our tradition is to make turkey sandwiches. We use kaiser rolls, mayo, avacodo's, tomato's, lettuce and sliced monterey jack cheese. They are scrumptious.
The kids left early. Adam was thinking about going to his HS football playoff game.
Cipriano had to work tomorrow and Sarah always puts up Christmas. I just want to relax.

Have a Thankful Day

I wish all of you a wonderful day. For those of you alone with out your loved ones near, I wish you peace, love and with good thoughts of those far away. For those whose house is filled with those you love, I wish you peace, love and much patience.
For those who have no one close, I wish you peace, and the willingness to go seek others needing friends and join together with them.
I hope you have more than enough to eat.
I hope that if you do you will share with those who don't.
I hope that if you don't, not to be afraid or embarrassed to ask for help.
I hope that everyone will take the time to be Thankful.

Fall Garden?

Our weather in Texas has been so strange. We are still in a drought, weather has been like summer, and the wind is normal, high. The only good thing is our garden is back to blooming.
We had a light frost 2 days ago but it will be in the 80's tomorrow. Thursday we have another chance of a light frost. Its getting time to think about preparing all the hanging baskets for sale and to protect. We have no room to keep all of them so every year we sell off all the extras. We have no trouble selling them, we don't try to make a profit just a little extra money for Christmas. I believe I will have 12 to sell this year. We are keeping only my kangaroo ferns and the rabbits foot fern. We have 2 succulents that we keep also. The bouganvilla we just set in some protection and hope they come back in the spring. Last year 3 came back.

Shelby

We were lucky enough to have Shelby (our gr. granddaughter) here this morning. Her mom had to have a root canal done. We don't usually babysit, but she is such a pleasure to have.
Our dog, Trouble, is fascinated with her and she returns the favor.
Of course we have to monitor them closely because neither one understands what the other can do. She saw him and started to laugh, she is just creeping now but she learned to roll toward him.......really fast. He is pretty smart and just moved faster than she could. lol
I got some good pictures but not of the up close and personal encounters. It was so cute to see her smiles and make sounds at the dog.
Gr. Grandpa had to stop and pick her up. All she had to do is see him go by w/out stopping, whimper a little and so he HAD to pick her up. She was trying to get the toothpick from his mouth. Cute pics.

busy week

This has been a very busy week. After Halloween, we had bills to pay (darn it) so we took care of that 1st. Thursday we had our whole day planned. Sure. We drove to McGregor to take our candle holders. Of course the place was closed. So we drove back and took our dog to the vet.
He got all of his shots, a blood test(for heartworms) and an exam on the anal glands. The whole thing got him a red sticker on his chart. WIILL BITE. I have been telling them that all along, but this time the tech made a mistake. She let go for a sec. and he really showed himself.............
He was beside himself......he was so upset. I have never seen him so wild looking.....lol Of course I guess I can understand that after all he went through.
The best news was that for now he will not have to have surgery. Whew!!!
In fact the lady vet didn't even mention it. The male vet probably will. I suspect if he should have the same problem with in a few months we will have no choice.
Today we drove to Georgetown and much to my surprise we had a check. Not a big one but something. No returns either.
This morning we did a little garage saling. Got a few things. Took my granddaughter and her baby to one this afternoon. She was looking for baby clothes. She found a bonanza.
Her car is in the shop, again. They got took on that one. The dealer has had to have it in the shop over 5 X. They fixed one thing, and had to do it again. Over and over. This time they are giving it a thorough inspection and fix up. I hope it really will be done right this time. They will wind up with a used car with new car parts...........
This afternoon we finished up some craft and I re-potted 3 indoor plants. I had potted them early this summer and they were already growing out of the pots.
