SETTLING A DISPUTE, MOM STYLE

Yesterday I posted my pre-loss gripe to my sweet, evil, daughter. She tried to give me a sob story and a guilt trip! She didn't read it all I guess. Because I did say that I would give it the old 'college try'. Poor baby! Shanna actually gave me hope, nice suggestion! You can read the comments. I never said I wouldn't try!!!! Just listing excuses for a potential loss, covering my butt! So if your reading this, watch for the contest, I guess it will be on my daughters blog. Potential ending date is the 18th of October (time to be perfected as the month goes) I truly do want to be in the contest!!! But I will let everyone know how hard it will be for me, poor me.........
I hope this will be the last blog on this subject, except for pictures of my pitiful attempts. Keep tuned in for further developements!!!!!

stupid. stupid, stupid!

If your interested in why I feel this way, check my daughters blog, sunflowerain, she issued a challenge to me, and I foolishly accepted. She challenged me to a doll quilt. I guess I was half asleep, or brain dead!!! I have this sewing machine, kept talking about one day actually making a quilt, talking about my granddaughters talent in sewing, and was sure that I could actually do it, I used to sew, a hundred years ago, but now I remember why I stopped. I didn't like it.........lol any way, I realized I used to sew and now understand that I don't any more. The sewing machine keeps eating the thread, I can barely see the eye of the needle, etc. But, never fear, I shall go on, onward into the fog.........lol .
so I won't be publishing any pictures of my efforts, at least til I complete at least a square, which I have yet to do. Lots of material to pick from, many ideas, NO TALENT.

Doing justice..........

My last blog, I told you about the beautiful wedding. However, upon reviewing the pictures, I realized that I did not pick good pictures. So, to show you better ones, here they are, I hope I did it justice. Very nice wedding, poor photography. My camera ran out of juice, but you can see it was done wonderfully.

Crappy month/turns better

Hi all. Sorry that i've been absent for awhile. This month has been a very emotional for me. Just before our Granddaughters wedding, the unthinkable happened. Our daughter suffered a miscarriage. I can't even describe the pain, for our daughter and her husband, nor ours. God has blessed them with love for each other and the strenghth to go on, and so have we.

We did go to the wedding, at which I cried, more from our loss than for the emotion of the wedding. The wedding was beautiful, the reception terrific, as was the rehearsal dinner. I am enclosing several pics here. Sorry for the pictures, limited time to take many. Kelly looked so beautiful. Blake, her husband, handsome.
We did have a disappointment too. Justin, our grandson was on his way to Eastman College for his masters degree, fell in love! (not a disappointment!) and decided to stay at Baylor for his 1st year of his masters, his love of Katie(who has a year left for her degree) made up his mind. We support him in what ever he decides to do, but can't help feeling let down by his decision. I know that he is happy with his plan, and that is what is important to us. He will be teaching at Baylor, making money (which he can use) and being with the girl he loves. Justin played the music for Kelly's wedding, beautifly.
I knew Sarah was on the mend emotionly when she issued a challenge to me! We will 'compete' against each other at making a doll quilt. No rules except having it done by the time we go to see them in October. The little stink has even been practicing!!!! I just got a space cleaned- good grief! I guess I shall have to get busy!!!! When I get some done, I will post the results here. Designs keep running through my mind, and dont stay very long...........lol I tried to convince my hubby not to go to Dallas until after Christmas, maybe not till next summer.............haha. Actually I am looking forward to it all, since I have been on a long vacation of working on crafts of any kind for nearly a year, CAN YOU SAY SLUMP? check out her blog, I was impressed with her attempt............................
