Great Birthday weekend!!
This weekend was one of the best. Our daughter and her husband drove down Sat. morning. We all went to the Home and Garden show, ( a family tradition) and walked all through the 3 buildings its housed in, picked up all kinds of "freebies" and 2 of us actually won some nice prizes. Me, a 4 pack of the new light bulbs( the kind that look funny but last for years. We have som in our living room and love them. (Sarah won one too) and Sarah one an MP3 player (which is in my name, since she lives so far away)met quite a few old friends including my Granddaughter, her husband an my G. granddaughter, who ignored me, lol. All in all had a great time.
After 3 hours there, we drove to Salado so Sarah could pick up some great Salsa that they had purchased before, and some Texas caviar dip for Dad,also walked down the street to another shop and Sarah and her husband bought me a stand for pots of flowers, I had seen it several years ago and since then the store hadn't had them. I will show pictures of it when planted. Probably several months from now.
Cipriano, our son in law cooked super for us, Fajitas, both kinds, and fresh green onions on the grill. Sarah made the salsa which was great.
Becky and Carol were supposed to come to eat with us, but Carol wasn't feeling well, so Becky joined us and brought a wonderful Banana pudding to eat.
We tried to call all the other grand kids, but they were all out running around.
The food was outstanding, we ate far more than we should have! Carol did come over later and also ate, We are so lucky that Cipriano likes to cook and is so good at it.
Becky and Carol gave me a basket of fruit and a beautiful vase of flowers. They always seem to know what to get!
This morning they let me sleep in, a little after 9AM, still in my housecoat, Jessica, Scott, and Analise came to wish me happy birthday and brought a beautiful print (framed) from the 150 year anniversary of Texas, and it really is beautiful, I think we already have a place for it picked out, again will show pictures of it when hung later this week.
Analise, just loves me to pick her up, It feels so good to have her reach her arms up to me...........makes my day,,,,,,,, she even went to grandpa this time.
We had a brunch later, just before Sarah and Cipriano had to leave, It was sooooooooooooooo go od to have them home. Sarah will have to work most Saturday for at least a month so I am so glad they could make it.
Justin, our grandson went to New York and Michigan this weekend for his interview, and audition for his Masters. Thank goodness he made it safely because the weather was aweful, over a hundred flights had to be canceled d/ the snow and Ice. I believe they all will be lucky to have him attend. I will have to try calling him later. Our internet and hotmail has been out off and on today, frustrating!!!
We were going to go eat and Dynasty, but since we have been stuffing ourselves, decided we would go later this week.
