Doing the happy dance!

We had some very great news this morning! Shanna (pinkrocket) called to say that she would be able to come to the wedding after all. Whoopie! For those reading for the 1st time, my daughter is getting married next Sat. at our home (garden).
I have been working to get everything ready, all the decoration etc. Hubby has been working getting the yard in shape. We have nearly everything done now, just a few details that will have to wait until the day before the event.
Unfortunatly, our son who had hoped to be here, couldn't get time off so he wont make it. I was so hoping that he would.

More on the wedding........

Everything is still coming together! So far we have the table decorations, favors, and a semi-green lawn. We are in the midst of a drought, no rain since the 4th of July and temps hovering at or over 100 daily. Our water bill will be outrageous! As will the air conditioning/electricity bill. Oh well, it's only money........lol
We did pick up all the dinner ware. So far we have 50 rsvp's. It will be such a grand event!
Sarah's wedding dress is at the cleaners for pressing. We put a ceiling hook in the guest room to hang it on. I can use it for plants this winter or we can just take it out. (the hook I mean). We will go put a deposit on the tables, chairs and table cloths next week. It's just getting the count we need. I don't want anyone not to be seated. The food will be easier, the restaraunt only needs 3 days. I will be making punch and have all the ing. for it. We will pick up the beer, champagne and tequila next week. I really am getting excited now. It's going to be a very crowded back yard, but I love crowds and I love my daughter and this will be the event she will remember all her life if we have our way.
I have to call the cake decorator and the photographer next week to make sure its all going well.
I promise there will be more on the wedding as the week goes on.

unexpected guest

Hubby went out to feed the fish this morning and was surprised to find a large red-eared turtle in the small pond. Fortunatly it only cropped off the water lily leaves and didn't eat the fish. It measured 8" long and 6" wide. We caught it and put it in a bucket. Of course it escaped! I found it luckily. After taking these pictures, we took it to a creek about a mile from here. It made for an interesting morning to say the least.

The fun of surprise!

Yesterday we surprised my daughter with a bridal shower. My wonderful daughter-in -law, planned for and purchased everything for a shower for my daughter. She even drove to Ft. Worth! We loaded in her car at 7AM, myself, 2 granddaughters, and my gr-granddaughter and of course the driver, Becky. We got to Ft. Worth at about 9:30. My son, who was donating his house for the event, had gone to great length to sparkle his house. We were all impressed. (We love him, but he is a bit of a slob. )((a big slob actually)). He had 2 weeks notice of the event, but of course he waited until the last 3 days to tackle a house that, beside the bathroom and kitchen, hadn't really been deep cleaned in over a year. He was exhausted but very happy to have gotten it done!
Becky and the girls did all the work, they said the mother of the bride shouldn't help.
It looked so wonderful!!!
Sarah was totally surprised. She got some great gifts and some good laughs.
I love surprises!!

Sorry I didn't get everyone in the pictures. I was taking video too. That is Sarah in the middle and her bridesmaid and maid of honor at each side. The table decorations and the gift table too.

There are some really good people!

We have been so blessed. As you know, we have been getting ready for our daughters wedding. We have been blessed by Pink Rocket and her dad. She really is special you know.
Now we have found another blessing. We have been trying to find someone to take pictures and coming up short everything. Our grandson-in-law is a very fine photographer with out a camera....lol. We even looked into buying one but a good camera was out of our range. So, we asked around for anyone who knew someone, etc. And we found one! The same one who found the cake maker also found us a very good, and a very nice photographer. She came out with her very awesome camera to look over our yard. She took several pictures and then got out her list of things to take pictures of, she covered EVERYTHING AND MORE. Hubby and I kept eyeing each other, very worried about her price. Then, the bombshell.!!! She would do it for $150. So far below our expectations! She is going to crop the pictures and put them on a CD for us. She may print out a few for an extra cost, but WOW. I had to give her a big hug. So every one join with me and Praise God for the Blessings he has given us.
And while on my knees I will ask for one more blessing. No rain on HER day.
